CLEVELAND OH
Globe Iron Works (in progress)
Globe Iron was built and founded in 1853 as a steel foundry in the flats of Cleveland. Globe Iron Works, as it was known, built the first large commercial iron ship on the Great Lakes. The building continued the making of ships and other steel casting products into the mid 1900s. The building also spent time as a night club until left vacant.
The Globe Iron project will re-imagine the historical building as a 1200-person modern theatre venue. The existing heavy timber structures, masonry walls and its industrial nature will remain. An existing courtyard will be enlarged and create a unique space that can be used before and during shows. The space can also be transformed for various other entertainment uses like corporate events and weddings.
