Van Roy Coffee Building
Client: The Chesler Group
LDA architects orchestrated the preservation and adaptive reuse of this c.1895 warehouse in Cleveland’s historic Ohio City district. This robust structure (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) now houses modern offices with magnificent views of downtown Cleveland’s skyline and Lake Erie. The project includes a thorough restoration of the building shell, additional core elements for compliance with current building codes, and the insertion of modern mechanical and electrical systems all while preserving the original character of exposed masonry and heavy timber construction. Mr. Durante served as the designer and principal-in-charge of the project.
